Terms
Last updated 26 September 2026.
These terms cover what Waypoint does for your business and what it does not. Your payment account itself is with Stripe, under the agreement you accept with Stripe when you set it up. By using Waypoint you agree to these terms as well.
What we do
We help you open and set up a payment account with Stripe, show you where it stands, and help you handle disputes on it. Your customers pay you through Stripe; the money never passes through Waypoint, and we never hold it.
Acting on your account
When you connect your account, you give Waypoint access to it through Stripe. We use that access only to read your account’s status, its payment activity (how many payments, their total and when the last one was, so our team can support you and follow how your business is doing) and its disputes, and to do what you ask here. We never transfer or pay out money on your account on our own; the only money that leaves it through us is a disputed amount you choose to accept, which goes to the cardholder. You can remove our access at any time in your Stripe dashboard; your agreement with Stripe is not affected.
Disputes
When Stripe tells us a customer has disputed a payment to your business, we email you and show the dispute here. This is a courtesy on top of Stripe’s own notice, not a replacement for it: Stripe also tells you directly, and its dashboard and deadlines are the ones that count. We are not responsible if our notice is late or does not reach you, or for how a dispute is decided.
When you save evidence, send it, or accept a dispute here, you are instructing us to do that on your account through Stripe. Saved evidence can be changed until you send it. Sending evidence and accepting a dispute cannot be undone. Accepting a dispute concedes it: the disputed amount goes to the cardholder. If you send evidence, the card network and the cardholder’s bank decide the outcome, not Waypoint.
The platform fee
Waypoint charges a one-time platform fee of $10.00 CAD, paid to us once your account is set up. We may waive it, and we may refund it; a refund goes back to the card you paid with. Card processing on your own sales is billed by Stripe, not by us.
Your information
What we keep, and for how long, is on our privacy page.
Changes
If we change these terms we will update this page and its date. If a change affects what we do on your account, we will tell you by email first.
